Hello Andy,

I am glad you successfully found a Sound Designer, and had a pleasant experience. In addition to the companies you listed in your blog, there are a great many individual Sound Designers out there who do work on a freelance basis. I am one such Sound Designer myself. I have gaming experience, and experience working freelance on indie games via the internet. I can likely beat the prices you quoted in your blog, should you (or your readers) find yourself in need of audio content in the future.

Thank you for your time, and best of luck to you on your future ventures!

Regards,

Todd Kinsley

Hi Andy.

That was a great story, at least for me. I say that because, I'm building a sound design/record lable myself, based out of Baltimore, Md.. And it would help me a great deal if I could see the contract that you signed your designer. I looking to get a picture of the specific items that were addressed in the contract and how they were address. If you could help I would appreciate it.

Love, Peace and Free Food

[...] Experiences with a Sound Designer Hopefully this article has made the process of working with a sound designer more transparent. When I started this process, I had no idea what to expect — how much it would cost or how the process even worked. But I was quite pleasantly surprised. Getting custom sound effects created for an indie game is quite reasonable, both in time and money. (tags: iphone sound contract) [...]
